Serene surroundings of the AEC campus made me look deeper into the nature. I used to spare leisure hours of evening nearby the adjacent Deepor beel admiring the glorious sunsets and began capturing those mesmerizing moments through camera. Got associated with North Eastern Photographic Society (NEPS) in 1994 and started participating in various group exhibitions and photography salons in Guwahati and other parts of the country. Introduction of digital photography and social media escalated photographic activities and got recognition in various forums including Daily Dozen in Yourshot category of National Geographic portal. Founded Goalpara Photographic Society (GPS) in 2019, which has grown to about 7000 members from across the state and few other states of the country. Alongwith promoting photography, GPS works with the motto of observing, conserving and promoting natural resources and traditional practices. GPS has been working on biodiversity conservation, afforestation, reducing man-elephant conflict etc. apart from photography exhibitions, workshops/webinars and interactive sessions.
