Naimur Rahman

Recepient of Tech Awards Laureate (2008) by the Tech Museum of Innovation, San José; and had received Special Congressional Recognition from US Congress for outstanding service to the community.

 

  • After graduating from Assam Engineering College, Naimur Rahman started his professional career with National Informatics Centre (NIC) of Government of India, serving in Guwahati and New Delhi. After 9 years of enriching experience, he resigned from NIC to join Department for International Development (DFID)[1]with responsibilities of Information, Research & Knowledge Management at the India Country Office. then he joined  IL&FS Education and Technology Services, the Ed-Tech pioneer of India with the mandate of leading the company-wide Knowledge Management endeavours which also involved creating applications and services for bridging digital-divide in developing economies.
  • Mr Rahman then did his Masters on International Business and joined OneWorld International Foundation[2]; and served as the South Asia Director for 5 years. Technology innovations anchored during this role, such as LifeLines-India[3], piloting of biometric enabled ICT Ecosystem in MGNREGA, and Post Tsunami Early Warning System in Sri-Lanka (by Commonwealth Secretariat) were well recognised. LifeLines-India has been acknowledged as Tech Awards Laureate (2008) by the Tech Museum of Innovation, San José; and had received Special Congressional Recognition from US Congress for outstanding service to the community.
  • He was then entrusted the responsibility of Chief Operating Officer – ANSA South Asia, the World Bank initiative to inculcate citizen centric accountability for enhanced public sector performance in countries of South Asia.
  • After his return to India, he is now associated with multiple institutions: World Bank, UNDP, DFID, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, DFID, IBM, Vodafone Intelligent Solutions, Save the Children, CARE International et. al. as Advisor / Consultant in countries of Asia and Eastern Europe.
