At present working as a researcher at Google, based out of the New York City office where he uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to inform the future direction of the driverless car initiative of Google

“After graduating from AEC in 2013, Abhinav completed a 4-month research fellowship went at DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) in Germany , he later went on to complete a MS degree in transportation engineering with a minor is statistics in 2015 at the prestigious University of California, Berkeley, with a full graduate scholarship. He also pursued doctoral studies at New York University on the dean of engineering fellowship. His research focus has been on behavioral modeling for discrete travel choices- which has been published in several peer reviewed journals. He has been invited to present his work at the University of Oxford, UC Santa Barbara, Columbia University and various international conferences. 

He also worked as a consultant at the UNICEF Office of Innovation in the NYC headquarters of the United Nations from 2018-20 where he provided expertise on building robust statistical models to predict the spread of diseases in central Africa using mobility data of people gathered from satellite night-light images and cell phone signals. 

Since 2021, Abhinav works as a senior mixed methods researcher at Google, based out of the New York City office where he uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to inform the future direction of the driverless car initiative of Google”

What I learned from the Civil Engineering Department at AEC is to be an original thinker and that discipline and focus, coupled with motivation and ambition can take us anywhere we want. The nurturing, friendly environment provided by the Professors at AEC CED planted seeds of confidence and a strong technical foundation in me, which has helped me ever since
